As with many things, what started out as technically minded people simply modifying their set-ups to create their own vape mods, many manufacturers have jumped on the bandwagon and some have come up with some pretty nice complete mod-type vaping kits.
Although there are hundreds to choose from, below are some of the best vape mod kits currently available.
On this Page:
Aspire Speeder 200 Watt TC Kit
The new Speeder 200 Watt Kit from Aspire is awesome. I have been a fan of Aspire since my early vaping days using their ego style batteries.
I later fell in love with their Nautilus tank which is still one of the best above-ohm tanks on the market nearly 5 years later.
Their newest introduction, the Speeder kit includes Aspire’s latest tank creation, the Athos, which I have reviewed in depth here.
The Athos is in my opinion one of the best flavor producing sub-ohm tanks on the market right now.
The Athos Tank allows for use with a 0.3 ohm triple coil or a 0.16 ohm five coil array.
Both coils produce dense clouds of exceptionally flavorful vapor. I’m getting as much flavor with the Athos as I do with my good rebuildables.
The kit comes with the Speeder 200 watt temperature control box mod.
The Speeder mod is Aspire’s first dual 18650 box mod and is quite a handsome introduction!
It’s attractively designed, ergonomic in the hand and offers more than enough power regardless of your vaping style.
The Speeder mod is extremely advanced. It features variable wattage in one watt increments, temperature control and even the ability to fully customize your temperature control settings.
In temperature control mode the Speeder is compatible with Nickle (Ni), Titanium (Ti) and Stainless Steel 316 (SS316).
Aspire has added all the safety features to the Speeder as well, from auto cut-off to short circuit protection, overheat protection, battery reverse protection and even overcharge protection.
While using the on-board smart charger, the display shows the voltage level of the batteries installed, the input current in Amps and a timer showing how long the batteries have been charging.
The Speeder’s charger however is a completely different story. As soon as my batteries reach 4.2 volts, it stops charging immediately and shuts the screen off.
It’s by far the best on-board charger I’ve had the pleasure of using.
I also really like how the screen flips over to always be upright regardless of which way you hold it.
It’s a small thing but it’s nice that you don’t have to mess with the settings to change screen orientation.
For myself, the Athos tank and Speeder box mod look so perfect together, I doubt I’ll be switching anything anytime soon. It just looks great and is such a pleasure to vape on.
The kit has everything you need to get going including one of each of the coils, a replacement Pyrex tank glass, the charging cable as well as a longer black Delrin drip-tip and some extra o-rings.
All in all, I’d say Aspire hit it out of the park with this one! An all around fantastic vaping kit that will more than have you covered regardless of where you are on your vaping journey. Take a closer look here!
HaloCigs Reactor Mega Box Mod Kit
If you have read any of the other pages on this site, you’ll know that I’ve been quite fond of Halo ever since I tried my first starter kit almost nine years ago now, their G6 cigalike kit.
At the time, it was the best vape around as far as I was concerned.
I later graduated into their Triton ego style e-cig and thoroughly enjoyed using that as well. In fact, I used the Triton almost exclusively for well over a year.
As things progressed, I moved more into mods and away from egos and Halo as they didn’t really offer anything other than the G6 and their Triton kit.
I’m happy to see that Halo has recently partnered with Eleaf and Aspire to create some pretty fantastic mod style kits!
The new Reactor Mega Vape Mod Kit incorporates the Eleaf iPower, which is an 80 Watt TC box mod and the Halo Cigs Reactor sub-ohm tank.
The iStick Power features an internal 5000 mAh battery, is adjustable in wattage from 1-80 watts and offers temperature control from 200-600 degrees.
The battery will fire with coils from 0.05-1.5 ohm coils in temperature control and from 0.1-3.5 ohms in regular wattage mode.
The kit comes with the Reactor tank, which is another great flavor a cloud producing sub-ohm tank.
The kit includes two 0.15 ohm Nickel coils to get you started which are strictly for temperature control, but they also offer a few Kanthal options and a couple of Stainless Steel coil choices too.
My favorite coil so far is the 0.5 ohm dual-vertical Stainless Steel coil which is compatible with both wattage and temperature control modes.
I find I get the best, cleanest flavor from Stainless Steel, even in wattage mode.
For best use, it is recommended to use a high VG e-liquid with the Reactor tank, and I’m happy to see that Halo has introduced a new line of high VG e-juice tailored specifically to sub-ohm vaping with a minimum of 70% VG.
For more on Halo’s e-liquid, click here.
The kit includes a 30 ml bottle of high VG e-liquid of your choice between a couple dozen options of flavors and nicotine strengths.
I’ve been vaping their Kringle’s Curse lately, which is a pretty potent peppermint and I have to say, with this kit and the Stainless Steel coils, it is coming through splendidly!
Overall, it’s a great kit for beginners and seasoned sub-ohm vapers alike. The flavor and vapor production will satisfy even the most avid flavor and cloud chasers while still being easy enough to use for an absolute beginner.

Joyetech ATOPACK Penguin Mod Kit Review
Joyetech is another well known name in the vaping industry. One of their newest introductions is the new Penguin ATOPACK all-in-one mod kit.
The Penguin mod is quite small and discreet for a mod of this caliber.
The entire setup is smaller than most of the battery mods on this page, yet it produces some remarkably plentiful and very tasty vapor.
The Penguin ATOPACK is quite unique in overall design, mimicking the rounded form of a penguin.
At just under 4 inches tall including the mouthpiece and just 2 inches wide, it’s curved shape is a nice comfortable fit in the hand.
It also utilizes an original and quite interesting coil setup. The coils are placed horizontally in a fully ceramic cradle.
The e-liquid feeds onto the coil from the top, fully saturating the cotton while the air is drawn through the coil as you inhale.
I was quite surprised the first time I tried it how much vapor was produced by even a small puff.
Installing and replacing a spent coil is a simple as I’ve seen in any vaping device.
No screwing or unscrewing required. Just pop out the old one, or plastic insert if it’s the first time, and replace with a fresh coil.
The ceramic base is held in with a tight silicon connection and I’ve had no leaks yet after weeks of use.
There are two coil resistance options, a 0.25 ohm version for direct to lung inhales and a 0.6 ohm mouth to lung option.
The Penguin kit is as simple to use as it gets. The tank reservoir holds a full 8.8 ml of e-liquid and will last from a full day to a full week depending on your vaping frequency.
There is no variable wattage, but I find the vapor production more than adequate for both vaping styles.
For some mouth to lung vapers, who are used to above ohm coils, it may almost be too much vapor. With the 0.25 ohm coil, it is definitely a cloud creator.
The Penguin mod holds a 2000 mAh battery which is quite impressive considering it’s size and lasts me about a day to a day and a half of use.
As you engage the firing button, 1-5 of the white LEDs will be lit up.
When all 5 are illuminated, the charge is full. Once you’re down to the last one, there is less than 10% charge remaining.
It’s a great device for anyone on the go and looking for a great vaping experience with no hassle. It fits in any pocket or purse and won’t leak even if left on it’s side.
Having a reservoir as large as this is also nice as you probably won’t need to carry any e-liquid with you as long as you top off before you leave the house.
The kit includes one of each of the coils, so you can try them both before deciding on your preference.
If you are used to an ego style or even a cigalike and you are looking for something powerful enough to give you all the flavor of a mod in a simple to use setup, straight out of the box, definitely take a closer look.
It’s by far the best all-in-one kit I have tested thus far. The unique coil design adds a lot of value to a very simple to use, well designed mod. You can take a closer look for yourself here.
SMOK Tech T-Priv 220W TC Box Mod Kit Review
SMOK Tech has been really getting ahead of the curve with some awesome new tank and battery mod introductions over the last few years.
The new T-Priv Kit is no exception. The kit includes the ultra-popular TFV8 “Big Baby” tank, along with a super cool dual 18650 220 watt, temperature control box mod.
The TFV8 “Big Baby” is a solid tank with a wide array of coils to choose from. The kit itself comes with a 0.4 ohm dual-coil installed and one spare 0.15 ohm octuple coil.
I started using the 0.4 ohm coil that was in the tank when I opened it. The flavor was remarkably crisp and full and the vapor production was definitely cloud worthy.
The 0.15 ohm coil is a cloud chaser’s dream and the flavor is even better and more full than the 0.4 ohm dual coil.
There are quite an array of coils to choose from for the TFV8 and you can read the full review of the tank, here.
The battery mod portion is quite uniquely designed with some pretty cool features too.
Choose between 9 different LED colors to light up your mod through the cutouts on the side of the unit. You can even choose from a few options as far as how the LEDs themselves function.
You can choose to have the mod light up only as you vape, or if your in a very dark space, you can opt to have them stay lit, even while idle.
There are also some effects to choose from with the LEDs too, adding a fun factor to a highly functional mod with more than enough power and safety features to make even the most avid vaper happy.
The mods itself is a little larger than most box mods I own, but still a comfortable fit in the hand. It’s just under 3 1/2 inches tall, almost 2 inches wide and about an inch and a quarter thick.
The entire atomizer side of the box mod is also the firing button, making it easy to fire by feel alone, no searching with your finger for the firing button when driving or otherwise visually occupied.
The battery mod has a max output of 220 watts, and is compatible with nickel, titanium and stainless steel in temperature control mode.
The mod runs on 2 18650 batteries which can be swapped out and charged on a multi-charger, or using the on-board charger and included micro-USB cable.
The on-board charger does a great job and will stop charging and turn itself off when the batteries are fully charged.
I really like the way the screen is on the top of the mod. It keeps the sides looking clean and is perfectly positioned as to be visible as you puff on it.
It includes a puff time monitor, so you can even see how long your draw is as you are inhaling.
The box mod includes all the power, control and safety features SMOK has become famous for, with an added cool factor and some great ingenuity of design.
Couple that with one of the most popular tanks on the market right now, the “Big Baby” and it’s definitely a kit that’ll have you blowing clouds, and keep you satisfied regardless of where you are on your vaping journey.
For anyone looking for an all-in-one kit and something a little different, take a closer look.
It’s definitely one of the coolest vape mod kits I have ever used with no sacrifice to power or performance. Take a closer look for yourself at Vapor4Life, here.
VaporFi VOX TC 50 Watt Box Mod Starter Kit
VaporFi’s VOX TC is another awesome starter kit made with the true vaping aficionado in mind.
This kit truly offers you the ability to tailor your vaping experience to your exact preferences.
The new VOX TC is a nice update to the original VOX 50 which was one of my favorite kits and was in my daily line-up for well over a year.
This newer version now offers you the upgraded VOX 50 Watt TC battery mod.
The new version now features a cutting edge temperature control chip that offers a full range of max coil temperatures from 200-600 degrees Fahrenheit. The kit also offers the choice of two different tank styles to pair it with.
The battery in this kit is the VOX TC 50 Watt Box Mod, an awesome, long lasting, high powered, durable box mod.
The battery alone makes this kit a winner in my book. Combine it with one of their equally impressive tanks, and it’s vaping heaven.
The atomizer choices for this kit are fantastic and will have you covered regardless of how you like to vape. They give you the option to choose between the Volt Hybrid tank or the vSix temperature control compatible tank.
The Volt Hybrid tank is very similar in design and function to the Subtank Series from Kanger allowing you to use the uniquely manufactured organic cotton coils or, use the RTA deck and build your own!
I have used both the Subtank and the Volt and as far as the rebuildable section is concerned, the Volt is actually better than the Subtank, particularly for those thicker, higher VG liquids.
The juice channels are almost twice as wide on the Volt and it just feeds into the deck and cotton so much easier. I have not had a single dry hit on the Volt, even with my max VG e-liquid.
The vSix tank is another new introduction from VaporFi this year and just as impressive as the Volt.
For those who are interested in using the temperature control function and don’t want to wrap your own coils, this is the tank to choose.
As you can see by the photo to the left, it’s completely encased in a metal wrap so it’s also a great option if you need something rugged.
Not only can you use regular coils of either 0.25 or 0.5 ohms for wattage mode, but you can also use the temperature control feature with the 0.25 ohm NI200 (nickel) coils.
Whichever tank you choose, it is truly an amazing and all inclusive kit. They give you everything you need right away, including the high-drain 18650 battery for the VOX TC device itself, and all the components for whichever tank option you go for.
If you are someone looking to take even more control of your vaping experience, and do it in style, this kit may be the one for you. You can take a closer look at the kit itself and tank options here.
